Then this is the meetup for you!
A big part of my life is learning, doing, teaching. Until recently I was in an environment where there were a lot of others doing the same. This is intended to allow those of us in the diaspora to cross-share our learnings, to bootstrap each other, reducing the effort of getting great products, great companies going, w/ baseline technical concepts.
I’ve long been intrigued by the idea of the Chautauqua, ever since first reading Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. The concept of life-long learning. So i’m gonna bring that old-timey thing to this century.
Topics to rotate, but generally focus on the how, personal experiences. We tend to trust those we know, and that can help avoid work (oh, X used Y and it worked, so I’ll just use Y w/o spending a lot of time on it).
Group is open to anyone and everyone. Location might rotate around a bit, but initially @ Communitech Data Hub erb/king. On the meetup group you can suggest topics of interest. @ the first meeting we can discuss how often and times, but first one is 31st july, 8pm, and will also cover some recent big-data care/feeding topics. I’ll arrange some pizza for attendees.
Want to know more? Click the meetup link. Consider coming out, even if its only for a slice and to see some old friends. rsvp’s would be nice.
Not in the waterloo(ish) area? Well, I’ll let you work on fixing that.
